A couple of questions have come up, so here is a little more information:

1. General Info about Invitationals: we've been asked, "do all kids have to do the Saturday invitationals, and what exactly are invitationals anyway?"

Invitational are just larger cross country meets where teams from around the area get together to compete. These races do not impact our overall standing in Kingco or State. They can impact the overall ranking of the team in a "poll" that coaches use to figure out where there team stands with respect to other teams in the state, but don't have an "official" impact. However, if we win we get awards, and that's always cool. They are also a really important part of the season for athletes who expect to go on to the district and state level meets. They give the team experience running together and racing with higher caliber athletes.

All JV and Varsity athletes will be expected to attend all of the invitationals (unless they've discussed a specific circumstance with us in advance). ONLY JV and Varsity athletes will be attending the invititationals at Salt Creek and Gresham Oregon, other athletes will have those weekends off from racing. Athletes who will be participating will be notified in advance as the mix of athletes who are Varsity/JV may change from week to week.

This week's Tahoma relays is really just a fun meet for team building. All athletes who have enough practices should participate. However, we are aware that many athletes need to attend the AIDS Walk this weekend - they are excused.

2. Getting to and from meets: we have bus transportation to the meet today and Saturday, but some parents have indicated that they would like to drive. That's fine, but please just let us know so that we aren't looking for your child. If you drive an athlete home from a meet PLEASE let a coach know so that we don't worry that we are leaving someone behind!
